Delicious Homemade Goat Milk Ice Cream

Goat milk ice cream is an easy and delicious way to use up all of that extra milk sitting in the fridge! After trying a few things, this recipe is what I am settling on. A recipe that is simple and delicious. See the notes for variations. As I play with new flavors, I will be adding instructions for those as well. One of my favorite ice cream flavors is chocolate with brownie chunks and Justin’s is mint chocolate chip, so stay tuned for the update, because those flavors will be next! Our littles don’t get much sugar, so I substitute honey and maple syrup as often as possible. They loved the ice cream variation with honey from a local farm!

4 cup raw goat milk

2 tsp. vanilla

3/4 cup sugar

Directions

  1. Combine ingredients in a pot on the stove and heat to medium. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
  2. Cool mixture in fridge.
  3. Once cooled, pour mixture into your ice cream maker and follow the machine’s instructions.
  4. Once done, eat immediately for a soft serve style ice cream or throw in the freezer for a couple of hours for a firmer ice cream.

Notes

Make this recipe toddler friendly by substituting the sugar for honey or maple syrup!

Wanting chocolate ice cream? Add 3/4 cup of cocoa powder to your mixture on the stove top.

You can make your ice cream have a more custard texture by adding in a couple of egg yolks to your mixture. Add them in while on the stove and beat until smooth.

Want some add-ins? Chunky add-ins can be mixed in at the end and softer add-ins like fruit can be added to the mixture when pouring into the ice cream maker
