Mini Nubian Goats
We currently have 7 Mini Nubian goats on the farm. Honey, Willow, Juniper, Ivy, and Charlie is our starter herd. Since then, we have also added Mettis and her daughter Lily. In May of 2023 we will also be adding our new herd sire!
So, why Mini Nubians? Mini Nubians are a well known dairy goat breed. The Mini Nubian breed is a mix between a standard sized Nubian and a Nigerian Dwarf. This allows for all of the pros of the Nubian breed, while being a smaller, easier to handle goat. While a standard Nubian goat typically weighs around 200 pounds, the Mini Nubian on average weighs 100 pounds. Plus, who could turn down those adorable floppy ears?
Duroc Pigs
Here at Fuller Farms, we raise a heritage breed of pig called Duroc. Heritage breeds of meat are breeds of animals that date back to our forefathers. Duroc pork has beautiful marbling and a deep flavor profile. Duroc pigs are very docile, have a great growth rate, and are very hardy. This makes them perfect for any farm! We like to rational graze our pigs throughout our woods. This allows the pigs to have a nutrient dense diet while also clearing undergrowth for us. Our pigs are raised with no chemicals or antibiotics and their supplementary grain is no-soy and non-GMO.
Freedom Ranger Chickens
Similar to our pigs, our chickens are rotationally grazed with supplementary no-soy, non-GMO grain. We have chosen Freedom Rangers for a few reasons. The first is their quality of life. Overall, Freedom Rangers are hardy healthy birds that love to forage for their food instead of sit at the feeder their whole life. Second reason is their meat quality. Freedom Rangers have a darker and juicer meat that provides a rich and robust flavor.
Livestock Guardian Dogs
Livestock guardian dogs are vital to any farm. These dogs are bred to guard and protect livestock from predators. Here at Fuller Farms, we put our trust in in our Akbash guardians to protect our animals. We currently have two Akbash guardians in training. They have already proven to be very loyal, intelligent, and have amazing instincts. These dogs have a calm demeanor that make them perfect for any home or farm!
